I finally took a break tonight and rested. Yay. And I have the day off tomorrow. What to do?! We didn't go to Atria Sunday night, but Liz and I went last night. So we really went to split an appetizer but no no no, that did not happen. This is the restaurant that has cameras in the bar so the chefs can see you. Well, since we know the chef at Atria, the bar tenders, and every other guest in the restaurant, good things happen. Liz and I decided to split the coconut crusted prawns, which were delicious! Then a guy at the end of the bar who we know was leaving so he gave us a whole plate of his truffle fries. I had never had truffle fries before but instead of regular fries these are fried in truffle oil--may smell like sweaty feet to some people, and it's really different at first but they are so good! Then, a surprise serving of lobster mac-and-cheese was delivered to us. Then we were served duck confit (duck cooked in duck fat), and it was delicious as well! And theeennnnnn, we were served some sort of soup with either meat or lamb... I was confused and couldn't eat it bc I still cannot use chopsticks! I was then sent some silverware... :) We paid $50 for probably a $200 meal. Whoopppee... We then headed to Wharf where we met up with basically everyone we had just been with at Atria: the chef, Matt, his girlfriend who is our friend, Angela, the bartender Kwamae (?sp), the manager, Nate, and some other guy I don't remember his name but is going to give liz a free bottle of awesome olive oil and wine. That was basically our night... It was karaoke night @ the Wharf but we still haven't built up enough courage. One day... One day.
I have a super busy week this week/weekend.. Nancy, the manager of Zinnias, the store I work at, left today for California to see her daughter, and she won't be back until Monday! Oh the responsibilities! I kind of feel like my mom just left. Nancy is so wonderful and is such a kind and caring person. What will the store be without her!?
OH! I almost forgot! I FOUND a bike! John, a co-owner a store called Backwater, said there has been a bike sitting outside of his store since last summer and that I could just have it. Hahaha soooo I went to go check it out and my goodness! It's this old, blue, Schwinn Suburban bike. It's rusting and the chain is off track and will get worse if you don't keep pedaling while riding. but HEY it's a free bike! It'll work for now... I think if I go to fast though the wheels will wobble off and I just know it will break soon and I'll fly off the handle bars. But sweet Adnon did put some WD40 on it for me. We tried to make it work, but it's still in pretty bad shape.. We'll see how it goes.
